This project focuses on the representation of nature and ecological problems in Francophone African literature : Sara Buekens uses the approaches of ecopoetics, ecocriticism and zoopoetics to study how the African literary imagination addresses the environmental concerns and what type of stylistic and narrative features are used to express the specific nature of the ecological problems on the African continent. The corpus consists of novels and novellas published after 1990 and written by French-speaking authors from the Maghreb, Sub-Saharan countries and Indian Ocean islands.
