International teacher week for academics in health sciences at North-West University (South Africa)

On behalf of the Faculty of Health Sciences at North-West University (South Africa), we would like to invite academics from Ghent University to participate in our International Teacher Week, taking place from 14–18 September 2026 in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

 

This initiative brings together a select group of international academics (limited to 10 participants) for a focused week of collaboration, teaching, and knowledge exchange. The programme is specifically designed for colleagues in Health Sciences, including:

  • Social work
  • Psychology
  • Sport and Exercise Science
  • Recreation and Leisure studies
  • Nursing
  • Nutrition and consumer studies
  • Occupational Health
  • Public Health and related disciplines

 

Key features of the week include:

• Co-teaching opportunities with NWU academics

• Development of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) partnerships

• Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) collaboration and potential joint publication

• International networking with peers in your field

• Cultural immersion experiences in South Africa

Participants will be expected to present a lecture or workshop and will be paired with a South African academic partner for the duration of the programme.
