Call for papers: 57th Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL 57) & The Third Conference on Bantoid Languages and Linguistics (Bantoid 3)

The University at Buffalo will host the 57th Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL 57) on May 21-23, 2026. ACAL 57 is co-organized by members of the department of Linguistics at the University at Buffalo, the department of Linguistics at the University of Rochester, and the department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University

The Third Conference on Bantoid Languages and Linguistics (Bantoid 3) will be co-located with ACAL 57 at the University at Buffalo, just before ACAL 57 on May 19-21, 2026. 

 

The abstract deadlines are 15th October (early deadline for those needing earlier acceptance for visa purposes) and 9th January (final deadline), with some possibilities for hybrid presentation. Both conferences will have the option to submit to conference proceedings (in Afrika Und Übersee for Banto3d and Language Science Press' Contemporary African Linguistics series for ACAL57).
